Tommy Miles: News

Update; Wed, 6/30/2010 - June 30, 2010

About time we caught everyone up on what's been going on. Well, as of today, Tommy is still working on mixes and overdubs for the new cd"I Got All That I Want", so it's a bit behind schedule but well worth the extra wait. The gigs he and the band has played have been really good ones, the band sounds great and the new songs are going over well. On the good news front, the tour bus is all done and looks/runs/and sounds great(killer surround sound in lounge), so we are ready to go out in comfort. On a "new trak added", our fiddlebabe, Melissa Lynn Troberg Lincoln and her husband Wes, soundman/bus driver are expecting a brandnew baby girl in October, so congrats to the Lincoln Family. This also means that Tommy will not be doing any shows with full band after September, come spring of 2011, we'll all be back out on the blacktop again, with an "extra one" once in a while.Just in time to celebrate the release of the new cd.
Other notes, Tommy is featured on one trak of CoCo Carmel Whitlocks' new cd, "First Fruits", go check it out, it's great.
Till next time, watch for show dates and upcoming news and leave some feedback on our guest page. A.M.

Spooner Oldham has been inducted into the Rock&Roll Music Hall of Fame in Cleveland. "About Time!", quoted Amy (Tommys daughter), when we got the news. We at Harmony-n-Gritz are so very proud of Spooner and feel priveleged to have him be such a huge part of the H-n-G family and Merlin Sights Records. "Pretty cool, to have a multi hall of famer be a partner and friend", quoted Tommy Miles. He will be inducted in Cleveland in April.Let's all give Spooner a big round of applause, and thanks for all the great music he gave us and keeps giving.

New Material for new CD - August 21, 2008

I just got back from a week in Muscle Shoals Alabama, great trip. I stayed w/ Spooner and Karen Oldham and Spooner and I got some new songs written for the next H-n-G cd, coming out in 2009. We also wrote with songwriter Scott Boyer of The Decoys and got a couple good ones there also.
On the return trip from Nashville to Ca, I met a new friend, W Earl Brown, actor and musician( Deadwood mini-series), good conversation and good guy.
It's good to be home and back in the studio with new songs.
Also, Melissa and I are co-producing a solo project called Gritz-n-Gravy to be released at the end of this year or beginning of 2009. So watch for the release of new cd's from Harmony-n-Gritz and Gritz-n-Gravy!

Spooner Oldham Musicians Hall of Fame;Nashville - July 2, 2008

Thoughts On My B-Day! - May 23, 2008

It's May 23 2008, and my birthday. Never thought I'd make it this long, and how long do you ask. Well, as the indian in the oldtime movies would say, I have seen 58 summers, and most have been pretty damn good. So Happy B-Day To Me!
Recently, myself and fiddlebabe, Melissa Lynn, has put together a westcoast band called "Tommy Miles with Gritz-n-Gravy", to play out here on our home turf, since Spooner and Steve live about 25hundred miles from here, and we won't get $10k a show, they decided to stay back in the south for this project, go figure. Harmony-n-Gritz still plan on cutting a new cd before the years end though.
So watch the website for upcoming dates for Gritz-n-Gravy playin live in your westcoast town. Demand your local venues to bring us to ya'lls town and we'll give you a great show.
Peace, Tommy

Well, we are in pre-production for a new cd in 2008. We are writing new material as this is being printed. Tommy heads for Muscle Shoals,Ala, in Feb, to get together with Spooner and Tucker, to write and pic songs for the new cd. We hope to bring in ole-friend Chris Ethridge(Flying Buritto Bros, Willie Nelson Family Band and many more credits) to play bass and contribute his talent to H-n-G. We are looking forward to 2008 and hope all our friends and fans are looking forward to our next release and upcoming shows. Keep leaving comments and greetins in our guestbook, we love to hear from ya'll.

Steve Tucker - January 17, 2008

'07 found H-n-G drummer, Steve Tucker, not doin a whole lotta drummin. He did get married to girlfriend,Julie, now Mrs Tucker. Still on the "honeymoon" I guess.

Melissa Lynn - January 17, 2008

'07 found H-n-G fiddlebabe on the road to various fiddle jamborees and contests around the country, where she picked up a few more awards for her amazing fiddle playin. She also was involved in putting together a new bluegrass group called "Shades of Blue", We're sure it'll be a good band and cd.

Spooner Oldham - January 17, 2008

2007 found H-n-G keyboard wiz,Spooner Oldham, on the road with the DriveByTruckers among others and in the studio with the Truckers, Betty Levette and a few other artists that want him to "Spoonerize" their tracks. He will also be fetured in the up-coming movie of the last C,S,N&Y tour, as their keyboardist. Go see the movie.

Tommy, On His Own - January 17, 2008

2007 found Tommy doin gigs all by his lonesome, for the most part. Playing a solo show in Sacramento Ca, at a venue called, Marylins on K, for Swell Productions. The venue was nice, the attendence was slight, but he had fun and Swell Productions try's to bring good shows to Sacto, a fickle market. Tommy also went to Texas and played world famous "Poodies Roadhouse",and had a great time with old and new friends. Texas is "Kool".

2007 in Review - January 3, 2008

2007 was a pretty good year , for a variety of reasons. Our cd was picked up by lonestarmusic.com for Texas distribution, RadioFreeTexas put it on its request list and it ended up in the top 100 cd's of its most requested cd's of 2007 with "Senior High coming in at #62 and "Lets Fall In Love" at #93, Thanks RFT and its staff. Thanks to all our fans that put in requests to their favorite radio stations and the stations that filled those requests. Harmony-n-Gritz played no gigs in 2007 as tour expences prohibited our going out as a full band, but members did go out on solo and support for other groups,(see individual news). Thank for all the support and may 2008 be a "Great" year.

Tommy in Texas - October 11, 2007

Hey ya'll, I'm heading for Texas to do my first show in the great state of Willie Nelson. I'll be playing in a venue owned by Willie's tour coordinator, Poodie, called Poodies. I haven't seen him in about 14 years and still won't see him on this go-round. Willie and the Family will be in Biloxi on that weekend of Nov 3 - ironic, huh?

Anyway, I am stoked about taking our music to Texas. RadioFreeTexas has been very good to us since we were added to their list. Thanks fans and keep it up. If you haven't checked out RadioFreeTexas, you must. They play shit you won't hear anywhere else, very cool. Their link is listed on this site. Come see me if you're in the area, or a closer place when I'm there.

Sacto Show - October 8, 2007

Well, I guess it's time to get out of the wood shed and see the public. I did a show in Sacramento on Oct 4th at Marilyn's on K and had a lot of fun. It was for Swell Productions, called Americana Ramble, good outfit. Thanks Mindy & Steve. I shared the stage with a band from Portland Oregon, Rogue Motel. A good band; so check out their websites.

It's good to do live shows again in front of a real audience. I'll be doing a few more shows this year so watch the calendar here and on our MySpace link. Peace & rock-on.

RadioFreeTexas - September 8, 2007

We'd like to thank RadioFreeTexas for adding us to their play list and all the fans requesting our music. If you want a really ass-kicking station that plays non-commercial americana/country and Texas Red Dirt music, tune in and join up. Go to "Links".

Katrina Victims and Refugees - August 29, 2007

God Bless ya'll and the Gulf Coast, on this 2 year anniversary of a "bitch of nature". Damn near destroyed my home town and the whole Gulf Coast. Don't forget them down there; it's still in devastation and needs all our help and prayers.

Texas Music - May 25, 2007

Merlin Sights Records and Tommy & Band has penned a distribution deal with LoneStarMusic. We are now part of the roster at LoneStarMusic.com, along with an exclusive family of Texas/Americana artists. Thanks LoneStarMusic for your invitation and confidence.

Loss of a Friend - December 13, 2006

On Sunday, December 10,2006, our friend Bill Blackburn passed away. Bill was a pleasure to know, and a joy to be around. We will miss him.

Free Downloads - December 13, 2006

MERRY CHRISTMAS! We are giving away 2 downloads to all our friends for Christmas, on our MySpace web page. #1 is "Guaranteed To Fit the Bill", written by Tommy Miles and Delaney Bramlett, recorded in 1989 in LA. Great band and one of four cuts done at that time. Featuring Tommy, Spooner, Delaney Bramlett, Bekka Bramlett and some really fine players. This is a "copy of a copy"; a better mix will replace it at a later date. It's a little more rock than H&G.

The #2 cut is the Christmas song "Little Drummer Boy". Traditional with a twist, Melissa and I cut this in the studio today; it's pretty much live. Hope you enjoy, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to YA'LL!
